Mrs. Clean!!

Hola! So I haven't blogged in quite some time. I've gotten back into school mode so I'm adjusting to hours of studying again. But I am back!

I don't remember if I told you guys about one of the bedrooms in my house that was CRAZY unorganized. (I say unorganized because it sounds better than junky.) But when my roommate moved in, the room she's in now had alot of my nephews' toys, books, movies, etc in there so her and the movers had to move it all into one of the other bedrooms. And let's just say, I dreaded going in to organize it. Part of me thought if I just left it alone, it would organize itself lol Not so!

I don't have a pic of the room because I was too embarrassed to take one lol BUT I am happy to say that about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I faced the messiness and cleaned it out, finally! It really was bothering me, like ALOT. Might sound crazy but I was actually losing sleep over the fact that one of the rooms in my house looked like that! I was not feeling it and I realized that enough was enough. It had to be cleaned.

Not to mention, I didn't want any family members or friends to look in there so I would try to keep company in the front/living room area haha I can laugh now but it was driving me crazy. I don't remember how long it took but I was so happy it was done.

I've noticed that I get into these extreme cleaning modes. I'm kind of happy about that though because who wants a junky house?? I plan on organizing the cabinets in my kitchen. They're not bad but I have alot of glass stuff that I can probably do without and/or pack away somewhere. I'll be doing that soon. I need to get into my washer and dryer room too. That's been looking a little cluttered lately. There's still a few boxes and other things in the 4th bedroom that I can clean out too. Hopefully I can finish all that in the next couple of weeks.

Other than that, I think I've been doing pretty good. I brought new curtains for the dining room, living room and two of the bedrooms that have made a BIG difference. And I plan on doing a little more decorative things in the family room, living room and dining room. I kind of want some plants but my roommate has two little furry creatures that like to nibble on plants lol! So I guess I'll hold off on that. Or get plants to hang up somewhere out of their reach. I don't know, we'll see. I will say that living with pets for the first time has helped me improve with cleaning so that's definitely a plus.

I kind of want to be a neat freak. I was always taught to clean up but to be responsible for a whole house is still a bit new but I'm glad I'm getting use to it now so that when I get my dream house, it'll be a very clean and tidy dream house. So yeah. If God wants us to live a pure lifestyle, I'm sure that can include the tidiness of our homes. I'm going to live a life of EXCELLENCE! Just call me Mrs. Clean lol

Sex, Marriage, and Fairytales

Hey beautiful people!

Yes, it's been far too long! But I'll be getting back in the swing of things real soon! :)

I came across this video yesterday. Maybe you've seen his other video that's been circulating the web recently, "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus."

This poem is so good! I've watched it a few times already lol...the points/arguments highlighted are exactly what PROJECT WIFEY is all about. We want to be WHOLE before we link up to someone else. And without Jesus, it's just a mess anyway.

So...if you're single and waiting, I encourage you to get your priorities straight. If you're miserable now, you'll be miserable in a relationship as well. Only Jesus can give you joy, and I'm constantly learning that fact myself.

Something new!

So Candice and I have decided to try something a little different. Since all of our posts have been from a female point of view, we've decided to include some MEN! (Applause)

I think it will be very beneficial to hear from our brothers in Christ and because of that, we've decided to feature true men of God after God's own heart. We'll be asking them questions about God, relationships, goals, etc to get some insight from a male perspective.

If you all have any suggestions on questions you would like us to ask or if you're a male and would like to be featured, please email us at projectwifey@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Stay Tuned!

Tuning!

On Wednesday night my Bishop was talking about how he had to earn respect from his wife, my copastor. He had to show her that she could trust him and one of the things he had to do was be consistent in his ability to hear from God. I've heard alot of people say "God said this and God said that." But I sometimes wonder if everything they hear is from God or if their own desires and thoughts take over.

Bishop went on to say that it wasn't every now and then that he got it right but he had to consistently hear the voice of God. If this is what you believe God said then this is what should happen, right? Well I started to take a look at myself and evaluate my own ability of hearing God's voice.

I've started to write down the things that God has spoken to me and also when those things have been confirmed. In December, God sent me to sow ALOT of monetary seeds into family members, friends, and even strangers. I felt Him leading me to sow this and then that and then over there and over here. I was just like "Ok God." And I've already begun to see the harvest of those seeds.

One person inparticular is someone I've known for a while. She's one of the sweetest people I know and her testimony is so amazing. I was getting ready to go to church one Sunday and I felt God tell me to find her at church and sow a seed. So I stopped at the bank, found her at church, and sowed it. Two days later on a Tuesday, someone had stolen her ATM card. She didn't notice it until she pulled over at a gas station with her tank almost on empty. The only money she had in her purse was the money I gave her. Wow! Her telling me that boosted my faith and confirms once again that I can truly hear from God. (That's only one testimony.)

As I was about to walk out of the house the other day, this topic of hearing from God was on my mind. And this thought came up, "You know you hear from God when you not only hear the good but you also hear the bad.You know you hear from God when you not only hear the things you want to do but the things you don't want to do." Hmm that made me think. It's possible to have selective hearing when God speaks to you or even to confuse your own desires with the voice of God. If God ALWAYS answers the way you want Him to then................................................................................................................................................lol

To be honest, God jacks me up sometimes. He tells me things that I don't always want to hear but because I have faith in Him, I'll go ahead and follow Him even when I don't understand. It always seemed like some people's conversations with God were always so pleasant. It seemed like He always instructed them and/or confirmed for them to do things they wanted and desired to do and I didn't think it was fair lol I even prayed about that once but realized that as long as I'm doing what He told me to do, I can't worry about what other people believe that He's said to them.

God placed on my heart to join two new ministries at my church not too long ago. I had been waiting for the confirmation what seemed like forever. I felt pushed to join this ministry or that ministry and I honestly got extremely CONFUSED at one point. And I was so worried that the opinions of others were going to block God's voice. It was so draining because although I hadn't heard God, I was worried that He was speaking to me but was being tuned out causing me to be disobedient unintentionally. So for me the confusion made me just step back for a moment and reevaluate everything. I couldn't move until I knew for sure where He wanted me to go. So when He finally spoke, there couldn't be any procrastination. I was so desperate for His confirmation that I think I tuned into Him more than ever, exactly what He wanted. And once He spoke, Helps Ministry app was "signed, sealed, delivered, I'm YOURS!" lol

I say all that because I've learned the importance of truly hearing His voice, not just when it's convenient or when He says things I want to hear but in my everyday life. The world will always voice their opinions and there will be no definite direction if we always yield to opinions in place of God's direction.

So as my Bishop was saying, it's not just about hearing Him right every once in a while but really being consistent with His directions. If you're trying to get to a certain destination, skipping one of the directions is going to cause you to be lost. You have to follow the directions step by step to get to where you're trying to go.

Sometimes God answers right away and sometimes He doesn't. Sometimes He says yes and sometimes He says no. Sometimes His answer is what you wanted to hear and sometimes it's the last thing you wanted to hear. But I want 100% accuracy with Him. Hearing RIGHT is the difference between obedience and disobedience. And God usually instructs us with a whisper. So tune your ears!

Are you hungry?

I just started to think about how the world might be if everyone were so hungry for God that the human mind couldn't even comprehend it. My desire always will be to remain hungry in my relationship with Him. There have been times where I've felt my relationship with Him is becoming sour and usually it was due to falling into routine and/or becoming comfortable. But after prayer and fasting and much grace and mercy, that intimacy that I enjoy so much eventually returned.

Candice posted a video about pouring out all that God has inside of us and using our gifts to change the world. I started to think about how the world would be if there was a pure and uninhibited hunger for God. Beyond the thoughts and desires of "What can He do for me?" but along the lines of "I just want Him for who He is!"

If only everyone pursued God as much as they pursued a relationship with a man or woman. People will go to the ends of the earth, sacrifice whatever it takes to win the heart of someone they want to call their own. What if people went after God that way? With the same diligence and determination. People will do whatever it takes to see the one they love smile. What if everyone desired more than anything to make God smile? People will do all they can do to try and change a person to fit what they desire. What if people turned to the perfect God and recognized that He already possesses every quality we could ever need.

Sometimes my heart aches for God. It sounds weird I'm sure but I think about how much He loves us and how undeserving we are. But what hurts me most is the way people treat Him. They go to Him when things are bad but fail to thank Him when things are good. They will choose a relationship with a human being over their relationship with Him. Their first thoughts in the morning are not of the ONE who woke them up but of the ones who texts them first or calls them first. God gets put on the back burner.

But what if, what if people refused to settle for relationships that pull them away from Him? What if people refused to go against God's will even if that means forsaking their own? What if people hungered for God and pursued God like their very own love story? Imagine how God would feel knowing that His children really do love Him?

God is SO desperate for us! And it blows my mind to realize that He just wants ME. In all my imperfections, disobedience, and missplaced steps, He still desires me. How painful would it be to not desire Him as well. Can you imagine? Sacrificing the best you have for someone you love so much who would rather give their heart, thoughts, and dreams to someone else? Or someone who only offers a fabricated form of love when they are in need of something? I hate the thought of God's heart being broken, even moreso the times I've broken it myself.

But I'm committed to remaining hungry. As I continue to grow spiritually, when my current season becomes comfortable, when I pursue my business, when my husband presents himself, when I have children, and when I get older, becoming familiar with God is not an option for me.

So I challenge everyone who reads this to give God a try and really open up your heart to Him. Not just half way or when it's convenient but really commit to Him and pursue Him in a way that will show Him that He is enough. God desires and is desperate for YOU. No relationship, habit, material item, or addiction can replace the fulfillment that God offers. When you're hungry for Him, He will fill that hunger.

I'll never be capable to be a complete reflection of the love He has for me but I can at least offer Him the hunger of my heart.

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

I Wanna Live A Life Poured Out!

It's just something about today's main event--attending my neighbor's homegoing service. I've been thinking frequently throughout the day that "only what you do for Christ will last." I'm blasting this song in my room right now, and it's pumping me to just go forth and finally be about my Father's business wholeheartedly. I wanna get to that level where I just don't care what people think. My main goal in life is to obey God and do what he tells me to do when He tells me to do it. I wanna please Him in all I do, and I just want to see Him smile and tell me, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

There's an entire world out there that needs to be touched by God's ever-changing pure love. So many people are suffering unnecessarily, while we {Christians} are just standing by watching. We're sleeping on our gifts and talents, while someone's life is depending on what we have to offer.

Like the song states, "I wanna live a life poured out!" That's my prayer for you and I. Let's go!!!

*Gasp* She did what???

I decided to look up the word GOSSIP. By definition gossip is conversation about the personal details of other people's lives, whether rumor or fact, especially when malicious; somebody who habitually discusses the personal details of others' lives.

I think alot of people including myself at one point have thought of gossiping only as spreading rumors against a person in a harmful way. I've never been a blabber mouth but I have entertained gossip. Even if I haven't said anything, by standing around to listen I've engaged in gossip.

It's a great thing to be in a position where people can trust you to share their struggles, fears, and insecurities. But their trust is taken advantage of when those same struggles, fears, and insecurities are spread to others. We've all been guilty of saying too much at some point but I'm at a point now where I understand FULLY the importance of just keeping my mouth shut as well as my ears. No matter how important or insignificant some information may be.

It's deceptive. When a person comes to you believing they can trust you and tell you things they wouldn't tell just anyone, you are responsible for guarding that conversation. That includes not answering personal questions about others or casually bringing up that conversation when conversing with someone else. People probably don't realize how much damage can be done to a person by airing out their insecurities or fears. People receive things in different ways and the person whose receiving this information will more than likely share it with others putting the initial person in a vulnerable position to be taken advantage of. Stop the chatter!

Let's look at gossip the way God looks at it.

Proverbs 11:13 – “A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.”
Proverbs 18:8 – “The words of gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man’s inmost parts.”
Leviticus 19:16 – “Do not go about spreading slander among your people. Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord.”

It also includes sharing someone else's information to close friends or relatives. You tell them everything about you anyway so it's not a big deal if they know about so and so right? WRONG! Telling business that is not yours no matter who it is, is gossip. You may only tell one person and think that it's cool. But that one person may tell one person who tells one person and the next thing you know, it's been spread.  I've been guilty of this before, but I now understand the harm that is done.

A lot of people probably question why I'm as private as I am, and that's because I can only imagine how much of my own personal business, fears, insecurities, and secrets that I've shared with someone in the past have been gossiped about. Or how much of what others have observed about me have come up in a conversation or two. "Chelsea deals and struggles with this. Chelsea is afraid of that. Chelsea did this or that. Blah blah blah." That's not cool and I would definitely never want to do that to anyone else. I tell as much as I wouldn't mind sharing with most people. I tell Candice alot and that's because even though we're close, she never tells me other people's business. That's a good sign that she'll hold on to mine too!

So we have to hold ourselves accountable. No talking of course AND no listening. It's hard to walk away from gossip when an interesting topic comes up. But if it's not your business then it shouldn't come from your lips or into your ears. YOU have the power to cut it off before it goes further than it needs to.

Hold onto a person's secrets and innermost thoughts just as you would hope they would hold onto yours. Keep your ears free of other people's business that does not directly come from them. It's a sign of immaturity and just morally wrong. Being trusted by a person is an extremely great blessing. Don't take advantage of it!

"We All Must Visit Death"

I just came back from a homegoing service. One of my neighbors passed away last week.

There's always something about these types of services that hits so close to my heart. We all die. Death is more universal than life, because we all die; however, not everyone lives.

Death is such a mystery, because you never know when it will hit. The pastor immediately mentioned that "we all must visit death" at some point in our lives. She stated that many fear death, some are nonchalant on the issue, and others live life in a way that they will be rewarded one day by their heavenly Father.

Though we don't like to think of our loved ones passing on, it is a pivotal point that we must endure. Some may have to bury their parents, while parents have to bury their children. Today, a mother of nearly 90 years old had to bury her almost 50 year old son. I always think that's a sad situation, when a parent must say good-bye to their child(ren) while they still carry on in this life.

However, God knows what's best for each and every one of us. That is why He allows certain situations to occur, because He knows that He has equipped us to handle it. He never puts more on us than we can bear, despite what we see and feel to be "too much to handle." It is in these moments that we tangibly feel His peace and arms around us. We are at a place where we can sense His spirit, because our spirit has quieted down long enough to listen.

I've been guilty of selfishly praying prayers that God will not take my family and friends away from me during my lifetime. I've prayed that we would somehow die together and/or we would all be taken to heaven at the time of Jesus' arrival. I just couldn't imagine myself strong enough to live and go on any longer without them. But that was really selfish of me. The pastor stated that my neighbor was a loan to us, and last week the loan period was up when God called him back home. That kind of stuck with me. We don't own anything on this Earth; God owns it all. He just placed us in certain families and communities for a season. Our true home is in heaven if we have received and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Oh Yea...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Excuse me, I'm so rude.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! 2012 BABY!!!

Just a tad bit late ladies and gents, but better late than never. =)

However, that's the last time I'm saying "Happy New Year!" I don't know why some folks continue to proclaim their New Year's greetings well into February or March. Seems a little tacky to me, but hey...what do I know?

As we have now entered into a brand new year and it's typical for folks to be on their "new year, new me" routine for a few days, I pray that you won't make this year typical.

Unless you're a dedicated individual, those New Year's resolutions will fall through in a few days (if they haven't already). Let's be real. If nothing changes, nothing changes.

I've seen a few folks post online that one of their goals for this year is to find true love and be in a stable, long lasting relationship. I'm sorry, but can I *side eye* for a quick minute? If you weren't where YOU were supposed to be at the end of 2011, a relationship will NOT solve the problem. Sure, it'll be a quick fix...a void-filler of sorts. But if you need someone (other than God) to complete you and make you whole...lemme just say, YOU NEED HELP! lol...no but seriously, you're going about it the wrong way. Keep it locked to this blog, because I have a feeling we're going places this year!! I have an inkling that more and more people will stop looking to relationships to fill empty places; I believe more folks (including myself) will embrace this journey wholeheartedly and be led by the Spirit of God when living this day-to-day life.

This year...

  • follow your dreams
  • cherish time well spent with family and friends
  • reflect
  • go after wisdom
  • do something adventurous and unexpected
  • read more
  • write more
  • give to those less fortunate
  • give God full control of your day and life {constant, consistent prayer}
  • continually prepare
  • guard your heart
  • move your body {exercise}
  • try something new
  • make a new friend
  • live in joy
  • be a tad more artsy
  • do what you love, and just please... live like you're dying.

Don't allow 2012 to be typical.

Power In Them Rolling Hills

"You're a prize possession. Not everybody's worthy."

This song has been on repeat. It discusses the power of a woman's curves and how special her body is. I like how Jill Scott also pointed out that we should have and continually pray for discernment in our relationships, so we know who should stay or go in our lives.

Of course, I'm not one to tempt a man with my body or anything like that. I just like the other messages of the song (being a prize possession, operating in discernment, recognizing the power and beauty of women in general). Enjoy!

The Ones That Hit The Mirror

**Read at your own risk.**

Don't you just hate pimples? Especially those that find comfort on your chin or the side of your nose? Those are so annoying, and they hurt.

But don't you just love 'em tho? lol...If you're anything like me, you get a kick out of popping one of those suckers. And don't get me started on the ones that hit the mirror with such force! Awww shucks! lol

I realize I sound completely gross right now. But we've all done it sometime or another. Did you know there's actually YouTube videos out there of people popping their zits and pimples? Yea...that's just nasty. Who really wants to see that?

Needless to say, I woke up with this killer hidden pimple on my chin. And after many attempts and adjusting my fingers, it made that popping sound and splashed against the mirror. I couldn't stop thinking how fun that was...I literally was thinking about it 2 hrs later. Call me weird; I know I am. lol

Then, I just kept thinking of how far I've come. Ever since I hit puberty until about 2 or 3 years ago, I was literally in bondage to the WORST habit ever. I used to pick my skin ALL THE TIME. And I couldn't stop. I would just pick bumps until they bled (yea, nasty). Make-up was my friend. It got to the point where I couldn't go anywhere without wearing foundation. I was just so ugly, and it was all because of my self-inflicted picking habit.

Only a few folks knew about what I was going through. Every time a new red mark resurfaced on my face, my parents would inform me that I needed to quit picking my skin. It just wasn't that easy. I've never smoked, but I  imagine that's what it's like when someone tells you to stop smoking. A habit of that magnitude is hard to break cold turkey. It's like I couldn't control my fingers or something. I would clip my nails, try to eliminate the time I spent in front of a mirror, use acne medications, etc. Nothing seemed to work. If my face did show signs of clearing up, I'd always sabotage by picking away again. This in turn shot my self-esteem and confidence low to the ground, and I became a very self-conscious person.

Not exactly sure of why I'm up at nearly 5am telling you all this. Clearly, it's not the most glamorous story. lol...it's quite embarrassing actually, but that was my life. How I finally quit? It was only by the grace of God. I definitely had NOTHING to do with being loosed from that bondage. And indeed, it was serious bondage. I wanted to stop sooooo bad, but I literally couldn't do it (on my own at least).

God is just awesome though. He can change your habits and turn your desires into ones that will make Him happy. Nothing is too hard for Him. He cares about the things we care about, even to the most minute detail.  We ourselves can't set ourselves FREE from bondage in our lives. We need the man upstairs to intervene, so we essentially bring glory to His name.

Perfect song for the occasion.....

Introducing...!!!!

Alright!

So I want to introduce you all to someone I have fallen for. We've had a pretty good relationship for the past few weeks and I would like to share them with you. Talk about a match made in heaven! lol

EVERYONE, MEET THE JUICER!

Man this thing is fantastic! I'd never really used this type of juicer until a few weeks ago. I remember being younger at my grandma's house and she had the one that spinned at the top and we would make limeades with it but it wasn't like this one! I've juiced everything recently. carrots, oranges, apples, cucumbers, tomatoes. etc. If it's been within my reach, I've tried to juice it lol And I'm definitely going to venture out and do even more. I want to juice beets too. (Gross I know but the health benefits of beets are ridiculous!)

In my attempt to get healthier, I understand the importance of eating a balanced diet which consists of the dreaded veggies. I HATE vegetables. Broccoli, string beans, and greens are really the only vegetables I completely enjoy eating. But I need more than just those. Juicing has become an incredibly benefical alternative to eating raw veggies. Mainly because you can mix vegetable juice with fruit juice and many times the fruit overpowers the taste of the vegetables but you still get the nutrients and vitamins.

If you've never juiced, I would definitely recommend it. Here are just a FEW of the benefits of juicing:

The juice requires hardly any digestion, so all its nutritional goodness gets rapidly into your system.

When you juice, you use more fruits and vegetables than you could actually eat. As a result, you are drinking a densely packed amount of vitamins, minerals and other plant-based nutrients.

Liver detoxification
So yea I'm highly impressed and definitely have been experiencing the benefits of it. Even if you love vegetables, a fresh glass of orange juice from a juicer is like NOTHING ELSE! I'll probably post some juicing recipes on here soon. I'm still experimenting with different combinations and tastes but so far so good! *thumbs up*

Missed your bus huh?

Have you ever been on a bus? I don't mean a school bus but like a public or city bus?

Well my first semester in college at VCU I didn't have my car on campus so me and a couple others caught the bus to go to a shopping center. One thing I learned about catching the bus is that it can be REALLY frustrating. The schedule gives you a heads up on what time to expect it but impatience can rise up if the time has arrived and there's still no sign of the bus. You're waiting around wondering if you're in the right place. You're checking the schedule every few minutes wondering if you read it right.

Yea, pretty frustrating. Especially when you've already mapped out your plans right?? You want to do this by this time and get that done by that time but that doggone bus seems to be delayed! Finally you're fed up and decide, "you know what? I'm just going to catch the next bus that comes. This is taking too long!" So here comes another bus. You hop on ready to go wherever it takes you because you are done waiting. It smells a little, it's dirty and extra crowded but any bus is better than no bus right?

You get off the bus and look around not knowing where you are. "Wait this doesn't look familiar. Ugh! This ruins my plans!" You take out the schedule to look for another bus that will take you back to where you started. It finally arrives so you get on. The bus begins to back fire and then a tire blows out so the driver pulls over. It needs repairs and it takes a while to get everything straight, which further delays where you're going. You finally make it back to where you started. You're waiting and waiting, wondering why your bus still hasn't arrived. You decide to ask someone, "Do you know where Bus number 33 is? I've been expecting it for a while now." And the person says, "It was about 10 mins late earlier but it's already come and gone."

Talk about impatience right? Now instead of a bus, picture a relationship. Most people have in their minds when they want to have things done. They want to get married by this age and have children by that age but there's one thing missing, that doggone "bus." So some people "catch" the next thing that comes. Yeah they don't really seem to be going in the same direction you're going. They kind of look like what you were expecting if you squint your eyes and tilt you head to the side. They have potential right? It's better than waiting. You have plans remember!!!

But what happens? You go on this journey. And things don't really seem right. They have more baggage than you thought. Spiritually things start to get a little crowded and it just doesn't "smell" right. You end up at a place that's unfamiliar that you had no desire to go. Next thing you know everything back fires and things go flat and you find yourself on the road going back to where you just came from. Only thing is now your "bus" has come and gone and someone else took your seat.

Patience is a virtue. Just because someone presents themselves and gives you butterflies, doesn't mean they're for you. It's important to be in position. Impatience is not of God and is used my the enemy to get you off course. You'll find yourself either going in the wrong direction or no direction at all. The RIGHT one should take you to a place that's closer to where you're trying to go. Don't catch the first thing coming because yours seems delayed. You'll run off the right one preoccupied with the wrong one! Although no one is perfect, you won't have to give them directions. "Buses" know where they're going right?

If you find yourself having to explain the route, having to change the direction its going, having to clean it out, change the tires, replace the engine, or even get out to push it, GET OFF. You're on the wrong bus and the driver is the only one who can successfully do those things. (God) Too many people settle out of impatience, desperation, insecurities, etc. It's important to know what you deserve and focus on where you're going. God is the destination! And if your "bus" doesn't get you closer to the destination then that "trip" is out of order and you're taking the wrong route. GET OFF or be further delayed.

Candice already knows how I am. I have permission to call her out if I ever feel like she's settling lol But I've chosen not to obsess over MY plans. God will drive the bus in my direction whenever it lines up to HIS schedule. And I plan on having my front seat! :-)

Sex: It's Only The Cherry On Top

Why are we such a sex-crazed generation?

Why does it seem impossible for folks to wait for true love? A love created by love {God}...

He's the only one who knows what's best for us, as we continue to get impatient with our singleness and lack of a mate to call our own.

Don't we realize that it takes more than sex to keep a mate? It takes more than good looks, pretty eyes, dimples, and a built figure to keep someone. All of that stuff should just be considered as the "cherry on top."

What about genuine companionship and intimacy? <--Don't get it twisted. Intimacy doesn't have to involve sex.

What about good conversation, complete with healthy debates?

What about a mate who would push you to be better? Someone to help unravel your purpose and set you on the course for your destiny?

What about someone who would push you to have a closer relationship with God? Someone that would be readily available for biblical discussion and other spiritual convo?

How about someone you could have some legit fun with? **And until marriage, your definition of fun shouldn't include getting freaky in any and every place imaginable.**

I've just seen too many people awaken love before its time. Too many folks have altered their own lives with the consequences of engaging in sex before marriage. Waiting and saving yourself until marriage is God's plan, and it's the best one out there. You will save yourself a lot of heartache, grief, and disappointment. Not everyone has your best interests at heart. Some are only around for that  1  t h i n g. And as soon as you let them get a taste, they're on to the next one...while you're left with broken emotions.

I'm not bashing anyone who's had or is engaging in premarital sex. It's your life and your choices. And as Dr. Phil would say, "How's that workin' for you?"

Perhaps the fabulous Lauryn Hill can better explain this issue...
